The 2023 Athlone Agri Show will take place on the 18th of June 2023 on the farm of Michael O' Donohoe at Garnafeilagh, Athlone. Eircode N37 V252
Admission; Tickets can be purchased at the entrance to the Show.
Adults €15.00, Students (with Student Card) and OAPs €10
Children Under 12 free when accompanied by an Adult
Family Ticket €25 (two adults and up to three children under 12)
There's an impressive programme of classes in the Equine Section at Athlone Agricultural Show this year. 101 Classes across 5 Rings including Broodmares and Foals, Young Horses, In Hand Connemara Ponies, Irish Draughts, Ridden Ponies, Ridden Connemara Ponies, Cobs, Family Pony Classes, Working Hunter and Ridden Horses.
We are hosting Five Qualifiers for the Dublin Horse Show, Breeders' Championship - Show Junping and Eventing, INTERMEDIATE SIDE SADDLE, LADIES SIDE SADDLE and RACEHORSE TO RIDING HORSE sponsored by The Irish Racehorse Trainers Association along with many qualifiers for the ISA All Ireland Championships 2023. Also, the Athlone Show Society present the IRISH DRAUGHT MARE AND FOAL BREEDERS CHAMPIONSHIP sponsored by PIPELIFE, with an substantial €850.00 in prizemoney.
More Exciting News, 2023 sees the return of Cattle Classes to the show for the first time since 2019.
The Sheep Section will feature the All Ireland Breeders Championships 2023. Kepak have recently agreed to become the Main Sponsor for the Cattle and Sheep Sections.
Poultry and Eggs return to the Agricultural Show this year, with Championships and Supreme Championships in the various categories. Make sure to check out the vide variety of ovine animals on showcase in the Pountly Marquee, from Bantams to Heavy and Light Feather Fowl, and Waterfowl to Ducks and Turkeys! There's also a class for the 'Most Unusual Bird' one not to miss!
Super Dog Show
A huge attraction is also our wide range of dog classes where adults and children alike can show off their four legged friends.
The Champion small dog will receive the Ellen Devery perpetual cup.
A Free Bus Service will run from Golden Island from 11am on the hour, every hour, with pick up at the Fairgreen Bus Stop on the way. The last Bus from the Showgrounds leaves at 6pm to go back into Town.
